Kokiri Tunic
I’m so sleepy and tired right now, to the point where my head’s throbbing [4.30am]. But! For some reason I’m staying up just to make my Link costume, for cosplay at Supanova next week. I am excited! To the dignified citizens out there who value their social wellbeing and have enough common sense to not dress up as gaming characters- I know you are all cringing at me right now. It’s ok, I understand that I am a shameless geek.
Why am I even going to Supanova, you ask.
- It’s a rare chance for me to dress up as Link, without me being shunned and stoned to death.
- Tom Felton is going to be there!
- Major pop culture expo experience- so big, it’s going to be a full impact to my face (let’s hope I won’t be dissappointed)
- I can spend the whole week occupying myself with a costume project- even though I have a few essays due at uni soon- but then I can say I own a Link cozzie! Link costume > finished essays.
- And did I mention Tom Felton?
So, I went and bought some green felt and brown cotton/polyester just yesterday and I only got started on the Kokiri tunic today. I have finished the first stage of the body, and am now sewing on the sleeves. Only just finished one of the sleeves, when I realised the extent of my fatigue, and that I need to be up for work early tomorrow morning. I was thinking of not doing a Hylian Shield or a Master Sword, but for some reason I have bought the materials to do it, and now I really ceebs going through with it. Making things with cardboard isn’t as thrilling as sewing clothes.
And I realised that improvising my way through making clothes, is much more effective than planning and measuring everything before I start. Really. I can just go with the flow and it just works out, unlike a dress I started making/carefully planning a few weeks ago. The way it turned out was so terrible so I scrapped it. Too much thinking and planning is not good.
But anyway, the tunic right now is looking quite awesome. All I need is so sew the other sleeve on, the collars, do the belts, the brown gloves and boots, and that’s it! [Navi, shield and sword if I can be bothered].
So excited to wear the finished product. I want to frolick around in my Link costume already!! :)
until next time,
T [wannabe Hero of Time]

probably one of the most terrifying things of my childhood.
actually, the entire Shadow Temple.
but THIS, basically.
Link is such a babe. Blue eyes and indie hair. And that massive sword of his (take note of where the sword is placed in the picture, totally self explainatory) [omg, I am so disturbing sometimes]
But yes, the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time. I avoided that Temple for a week because I was so shit scared of it. I did the Spirit Temple instead until I got stuck where the hover boots (they’re found in the Shadow Temple) were needed, so I had no choice but to finish the Shadow Temple. Oh, and I despise the boss in the Shadow Temple too, it’s so darn hard to kill. Yep. Life story.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lamh7njGXH1qeswumo1_500.jpg)
